The Messaging Operations Team is responsible for ensuring a stable and reliable Messaging environment that includes Microsoft Exchange, SMTP Edge Systems, E-mail Compliance Systems, and Mobile Technology. The team is expanding to meet the operational demands of a fast growing infrastructure and is currently in need of a dedicated, senior level Messaging Administrator. This person must be a deep and broad hands-on Exchange expert, as well as a strategic thinker and is responsible for providing IT with service organizational functions including incident, request, change, problem, and knowledge management. This role entails 24x7 off-hours on-call responsibilities. This person must be able to work well in a team, but also have the ability to work independently.
Day-to-day Responsibilities:
Day-to-day administration, operation, and support of the Firms enterprise messaging infrastructure, primarily Microsoft Exchange 2007
Providing high quality infrastructure services to customers (Service Delivery, Problem Management, Tier 3 Incident Management)
Implementing and operating incident,problem,change,request,knowledge management machines
Mitigating risks to the service and ensure service availability
Analyzing current Messaging Operations Service and recommend enhanced solutions
Required Skills:
7-10 years Information Technology experience; minimum of 3 years messaging operations experience
Deep and broad Microsoft Exchange 2007 experience
Mid- to Large-scale Exchange production operations experience where e-mail and messaging services are mission-critical
Firm understanding of messaging best practices and must be capable of applying best practices to the operational environment
Desired Skills:
College degree preferred but not required, based on experience
Exchange 2010 migration experience
Messaging security and auditing tool experience
SMTP Edge Mail experience
Compliance archiving and edge e-mail experience
Microsoft clustering, Active Directory, Storage Technologies, general
Server administration experience
Blackberry experience
Experience taking immature operations and making them stable and mature (turnarounds)
